I brought along the camera with me when I went to fetch SiewPeng from work.  On the way home, I asked SiewPeng to capture the light in the night while I was driving.  I have saved the camera setting in its customised mode.  What SiewPeng had to do was just pointing the camera to any light and press the shutter release button.

We got the following photos, while the shutter was opened and while my car was moving.

Can you believe it?  For those who know about this photography technique, you will know how did we produce it.  Can you guess where are those light from?  Some of them are the front and rear light of other cars, some are the neon light, traffic light, street lamp and even the signboard and billboard.

Although I know about this photography technique long time ago, but I never produce such amazing photo in the past.  SiewPeng is really good in choosing the right light, right time and right place to press down the shutter release button.

This technique is call long time exposure.  When the shutter is left opened for a time longer than usual, the light will become a paintbrush to paint the photo until the shutter is closed again.  In order to use this technique, the background must be dark enough, so that the photo will not become all white.  Our camera allow us to select the shutter speed and we use the speed between 3 seconds to 6 seconds.  Of course the aperture is set to the smallest and the ISO is set the the lowest sensitivity.

SiewPeng has taken a lot of these photos, and we have selected the best photos for you to enjoy them.  Please let us know what you think about these photos, and how may we improve it.  Since it produce such amazing outcome in our first try, we are excited and will take more photos using this technique.

You have to use your imagination to feel that what is inside these photos.  Imagination can make things that we never thought before come true.  Anything that we have now is also the imagination that come acrossed the inventor’s mind.  Let open our imagination as wide as posibble for the positive things that may help our Earth, and make our Earth become the greatest planet in the universe.
