The rain was only 100 - 200 meters away from our bus.
As usual we took an express bus from LCCT to Ipoh on our last trip. But this time we sat exactly above the driver seat. It was a semi double decker bus where only the driver sit at the lower level and all the passengers on the upper floor. I told myself that it’s a good time for me to take photographs. I could see everything the driver can see and saw even more things than the driver could because I sat higher than him. I have taken about 200+ photo along the journey from LCCT to Ipoh, just like what I have done in Toowoomba in July 2003. I sat on the front sit of the bus where there was nothing blocking me from taking all the pictures. I switched on my camera most of the time getting ready to capture every view until I have to change to my backup batteries.

After a few seconds, the rain poured on the bus as it moves towards the raining area. My camera was very intelligent and focused quickly on the water on the windscreen instead of the highway in front. That’s why you can see the water marks is sharp but the things in front is blur.

The rain started and stopped for at least 3 to 4 times. The first time was the heaviest rain. Even though it was raining, I still kept on taking photos and I have got this effect. The method I used was just taking the picture using auto focus, the camera will focus on the water on the glass.

The light of the cars from the opposite direction on the highway looked like fire because of the rain. This picture gives a horrible feeling. Something suddenly came accross my mind when I look at this picture - Although the first row seats on the bus is the best place for taking photographs, it is also the most dangerous seat if something happened to the bus.

The different directions of water flow on the bus windscreen created different patterns which distorted the light of cars’ headlight. The effect is similar to the “filters” in photoshop, but all of the photos here are not edited with photoshop. It was the water on the windscreen of the bus that made the “filters” happened.

After the bus got out from the highway toll and reached Ipoh city, It rained again, but this time was only drizzling. You can see there is a town, not as big as a big city like KL, behind the raindrops. From the picture you can see there are shophouses. It seems like a peaceful town. This picture and the picture below give a “Kampung” and peaceful feeling because of the green color. “Kampung” means village in Malay.

There was a rainbow welcoming us at Ipoh.
