Effect of the Zoom 01

Effect of the Zoom 02

Can you see the diferent between the 2 pictures above?  Which one do you think is better?

The second picture shows the common mistake where the edges of the subject loss their balance.  It creates an effect of high perspective which make the subjects shape look odd.  Instead of a trangle, it’s shape becomes a trapezium.

How should we solve it?  Look at the first picture.  It’s more balance.  What you have to do is do not take the picture of the subject from a very close distance.  You should move a step backward and zoom in a bit.

This is the theory of perspective.

Effect of the Zoom 03

My sister has just bought this digital camera, and I am still studying its feature.  I discover that it has long time exposure feature where the shutter speed can be slowed down up to 8 seconds or 30 seconds in Stary Sky mode, but I can’t find the TV, AV, nor the Manual mode.

I am not used to hold this type of camera, first it is very small., second it doesn’t have the DSL type handle grip.  I have a feeling that it may dropped from my hand anytime.  I prefer to have the DSL type handle grip which allow me to hold the camera tight.  Now the SemiPro or the Prosumer camera such as the Canon PowerShot S5 IS has the DSL type handle grip.  It next coming series is my dream camera.
