This door lock is not as secure as I imagined.

Months ago, when I was doing my project on network cable, I was waiting for the person-in-charge who was supposed to open a door for me to do the network point termination. His office was just a few doors away, but after he opened the door for me, he locked himself outside his office.

He looked frustrated and was seeking for help. He asked me if I have any tools to open the door for him, but what I had was only screw driver and it didn’t help.

Lukily his colleague came and did the lock picking. He said he will try his best.

He got an old useless phone card and insert it into the narrow space between the door and the wall. He moved it left and right, up and down. It was not easy but not too difficult as well. Within 10 minutes, the door was opened.

The design of this door is good because it can automatically lock the door, but if it is not installed properly and some space is allowed between the lock and the wall, the phone card can be inserted to push the triangular part to move inwards and the door will be opened.

The phone card is useless after the lock picking process.
