After we walked through the caves in Kek Lok Tong, there is a beautiful garden with lakes. We couldn’t wait to enter the garden and enjoy the beauty of the Mother Nature.
Although some of the features such as the chinese style pagodas are man-made, but they are perfectly matching the theme of the overall look of the garden in Chinese style.

Along the way, we saw different colours of hibiscus flowers which I have shown you earlier.
There is a walking path surrounding the lake. We walked slowly, and we first saw someone feeding the fish and turtles in the lake. And we continued to walk clockwise around the lake.

Later, we saw a few gardeners cutting the grass, watering the plant etc. The garden is well maintained, no wonder it is always in a beautiful look. This was our 3rd time here and every time it is in good condition.

Not far from the lake, there is a big power cable tower. It is the most unnatural element in the garden. However, it is an important infrastructure in our modern life and we cannot live without electricity nowadays. Anyway, its appearance in the garden is still considered acceptable for me because its shape is generally artistic.

There was no lotus in the lake as we saw in our 1st and 2nd visit years ago. We hope that they will consider to replant them, because it really looked great when there was a full lake of lotuses.
I believe the pretty butterflies, the hardworking bees, the aeroplane-shaped dragonflies, the adorable damselflies and even the fish in the lake will be very happy to have multi-colours of lotuses filling up the whole surface of the lake.

If I am not mistaken and forgotten, there are 2 lakes there actually. You can see that the colour of the water on both lakes are different. The brownish lake was full of lotus years back.

I suggest that besides having beautiful lotus in the lake, the other lakes can be used by visitors to take the paddle boats, so that Colin and SiewPeng can go to the middle of the lake and take some photos. :D

Releasing life
Releasing life (FangSheng in Chinese) is a good deed in Buddhist religion and Chinese believes, but it is not allowed here. I think they want to protect the current residents in the water, and control their population.
Releasing life must be done properly after considering all the issues, otherwise it is not a good deed because the animals might get hurt which is against the purpose of releasing them (learn to be compasionate). The following are the examples:-
1. Release the animals which cannot survive by themselves such as gold fish.
2. Release the animals to an unsuitable environment. For example, the fish which normally live in the river cannot be released in salt water sea. And if the fish were released near a fishing village, it would get caught again easily. And if there is smaller fish in a pond, releasing a big fish would kill the small fish.
3. Release the animals at the wrong time. The animals such as birds may not be able to find their food or would easily been caught again.
Therefore doing a good deed without knowing what is the purpose, will become a bad deed.

I will show you more photos of the garden in Kek Lok Tong in the coming posts.
