Do not look down on an ant. It can be stronger than a human being because it can lift something that is 17 times (average) of its body weight. Instead, we should learned from it because the ant is one of the hardworking animals. A swarm of ants could be aggressive, but they show good team work within their own team.

Today is Monday again - the beginning of a working week.  The ant reminds me to work harder this week. I believe hard work plus clear vision of goals and objectives will pay off.

Do you know what the different between goals and objectives?

Goals are broad whereas objectives are narrow.
Goals are general intentions whereas objectives are precise.
Goals are intangible whereas objectives are tangible.
Goals are abstract whereas objectives are concrete.
Goals are based on ideas whereas objectives are based on fact.
Goals cannot be measured whereas objectives can be measured.
Goals cannot be validated whereas objectives can be validated.

Example of goal:- I want to be the most creative in web development field, and invent something which no one has ever created.

Example of objective:- I want to complete this web development project this week and hand it over to the client next Monday.

We dug out a piece of stone with plant fossil from our backyard.  :D  The shape of the leaves are clearly marked on the stone.  The mother nature has left the kiss marks on the stone.  Don’t you think that the leaves fossil look like the kiss marks?

There is only a small area on the stone that has fossil.  And there are different types of leaves fossils on the stone.

Part of the stone has been carved into odd shape by the mother nature.

I put my eyes very close to the stone and discovered that there is a mini landscaping hidden inside.  There are mini mountains, mini valley, sand and rocks.  I think I can use this piece of rock as a bonsai pot.

This is how the whole thing looks like.

I turned it upside down, there is a thick layer of soil covering it.  May be I should learn what an archaeologist usually do:- take a small brush and brush away the soil.  Then I might find out more marks on this stone.

Actually, I am not sure whether this stone can be considered as a fossil.  It might be the leftover mortar poured by the construction workers onto the soil and the leaves had fallen onto it, but it does not look like a product of cement.  It looks more like a limestone.

This is how I take its photos.  :p  I put it on my chair with 2 pieces of A4 papers.  My camera was mounted on the tripod.  First, I zoomed the lens and locked the focus, then my left hand held the light and moved around looking for good direction of light source to show the details of the stone.  Finally, I use my right hand to press the shutter release button using the camera remote control.

What and how many things can you find from the picture above?  I have limited space, and they are the things around me.

Last weekend, my mum gave us some Buah Keranji.  It has black soft shell skin in oval shape and its diameter is about 3cm.  We seldom eat this fruit.  I remember the last time I had it was more than 15 years ago.  This is the first time SiewPeng tastes this fruit.  Her first reaction was a sour face because she couldn’t accept the feel of the fruit in her mouth.

I have tasted it carefully but I still cannot think of a best way to describe its taste.  It has a very little of sour combined with sweetness.  The taste is something similar to lemon tea, but the feeling in the mouth is totally different.  Its mealiness is strong but when put in mouth, it is a bit sticky.

Its black shell skin is not really hard, but I always press too hard to open it and hurt the fruit inside.  Therefore I have used a pair of scissors to cut its skin.

The edible part is actually the thin layer that covers the seed.  You cannot bite it because the seed is hard, but you can only eat it with your tongue by taking out the thin layer of the edible part from the seed.

After the first bite, it looks like this.

I have eaten a few of them with two seeds in one fruit.  Two seeds shared one layer of fruit covering them.  I discovered it when I found 2 seeds in my mouth, I thought I have bitten the seed into 2 pieces, but when I tried to bite them again, they were really as hard as rocks.  Then I washed them and looked carefully, they were twins actually.  Usually a bigger Buah Keranji has two seeds inside.

Buah Keranji is its Malay name.  Its scientific name is Dialium indium.  It is a local fruit, and there is not much information about it in Wikipedia.  In Iban (a Sarawak native’s dialect), it is called Pun engkeranji.  This fruit is native to West Malaysia and Borneo only.  In Kuching, Malaysia, there is a road in Tabuan Jaya area called Jalan Keranji (Keranji Road).

This is the leftover that I am going to throw into the rubbish bin.

I am not sure how high is the economy value of this fruit, we have never found it in the supermarket / hypermarket, ( May be we seldom go to rural area or wet market).  It can be considered as a rare fruit in the city.  Another reason is that not everyone can accept its taste.  If it can be sold at a good price, I am sure that the supermarket / hypermarket will sell it.
