The Wind Cave at Bau has long passages in U shape labelled with Cave Passage No.1 (320 meters), Cave Passage No.2 (120 meters) and Cave Passage No.3 (120 metes). From my calculation, there are 4 entrances which are linked by these passages. It is completely dark inside the cave.

It is a long cave. There are some wide areas especially near one of the entrances of Cave Passage No.2. But generally, it is narrow along the passages. However, there are still enough space for the wooden walkway to be built all the way along the passages in the cave. Therefore, it is not difficult to walk inside the cave, except that it may be slippery and dark.

I expected that the wind must be strong inside the cave, especially at the narrow area, but the wind was still when we were there.
From the map, I found that there is an underground stream in the cave.

We spent at least half an hour in the dark taking the photo of the bats. Later, we spent quite long at some viewing platforms along the way. We got out from one entrance and went into another entrance, and explored all the cave passages. The whole process took us more than 2 hours, which others might have finished visiting the cave in less than 1 hour. We saw many people passed us by while I was taking the photos.

I carried my heavy tripod with me, so that I could take good photos. But the cave is really too dark for my camera to do focusing properly. The pain was rewarding. With the tripod, I could take photos with longer exposure without shaking the camera and getting blur photos.

This photo is similar to the photo above, but it is a few steps nearer to the cave entrance.
We stopped here for a while to take the portrait of ourselves.

These are the photos of Colin and SiewPeng in the Wind Cave. :D

SiewPeng came here for the first time, and this was my 3rd or 4th visit to Wind Cave. My last visit was about 5 years ago with my ex-colleagues, and my first visit was with my parents when I was in primary school.

I know that there are some limitations on my camera, but I have tried my best to take good photos.
To be continued …

Looks like a nice place. Must go someday.
-> JLean, thanks. It was cooler in the cave compared to outside under the hot sun, but I was sweating because I carried my heavy tripod along the whole journey in the cave.
I walked in the cave, stopped, open the tripod legs, took photos, put the tripod legs back, continued to move… and repeated again.
-> Lindy, yes, it is a nice place, I will post some more photos taken from Wind Cave. Then I will continue to blog about Fairy Cave which is a few kilometers away from Wind Cave.
