‘Teacher, I got three stickers today’. :) This sounds like something very ordinary but it has made my day.
I did past simple with regular verbs the other day and I was eliciting past tense verbs from the students to see if they know how to apply the rules to transform the verbs from their base form to past simple. Derrick was showing his utmost interest and was jumping up and down to get a chance to say his answers. He did well that day and received his rewards.
Derrick isn’t the brightest in class but he is often trying his best in his work. He doesn’t do well in his spelling tests and always has to do lots of corrections after that but he has never given up hope. Neither have I. :) And that’s what he said to me before dismissal that day. Keep it up, Derrick!
