This is the 1-week old baby flower of Dracaena surculosa. We call this plant “RiBenZhu” which means Japanese Bamboo in Chinese.

It is one of my favorite plants, and I have collected 5 varieties of Dracaena surculosa.
It flowers at random time of a year usually before or after Chinese New Year, but I notice that if I found one of them flowers, I am sure that I can find it flowers in other places in local area as well.
I guess they have ‘communicated’ with each other to decide when to flower. It might be because of the “local area weather” temperature and humidity etc. (it might not be the whole city, but area smaller than a city, or it might extend to a big area inland but not the coast).

I will show you other varieties of Dracaena surculosa after I have their photos.
