SiewPeng bought a colourful-plastic-net pencil case when we visited a book fair last week.

It is colourful and I couldn’t wait to put it inside my light box and took its photo while it is still new.

I took its photo from different angle while SiewPeng helped me to hold the light source.

Some area on the pencil case has reflection, I used the polarizer filter to reduce the reflection that appear white.

This pencil case might look different after the time has passed.  The colours might fade.  Now, it is brand new.

I posted about my old metal pencil cases about a year ago.  At the time, I decided to discard them, but luckily I didn’t.  Now I found it useful and continue to use it.

I am interested in taking products photographs for advertisement purposes.  May be I should invest in a proper light box to take the photo of different products.  The following are some of my works with the object in my self-made light box.
1.  Radio.
2.  Buah Keranji.
3.  Buah Pulasan (a Friut looks like Rambutan).
4.  Roselle - Rozel - Luo Shen - Asam Susur.
5.  Bunapi Shimeji Mushroom.

I found this slipper somewhere.  It gave me a strong feeling on extending life of objects in our life.  If we can extent the life of everything around us, we can reduce rubbish which causes the environmental pollution problem.

It is not the problem of:-
1.  rich vs. poor;
2.  wasteful vs. stingy ;
3.  fashionable vs. ugly.

What I am focusing here is the environmental issue.  I strongly agree that this is a good deed, even some people may consider this action is only done by the poor and stingy people, and the slipper might look ugly to them.

Mindset can change our life, think from the other point of view:-  What is the point if we make ourselves look good, high class etc.  but we let our future and our next generation’s life in danger.

I don’t think it is ugly.  It might become the latest fashion trend in the coming seasons, just like the jeans with ripped knee.

***   Save the environment for ourselves and for our next generation.

**(However, when a thing really comes to the end of its life, it needs to be replaced.  We should not be extreme on both sides.)

“Selamat Ari Gawai Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai” (Happy Gawai day, long life, health and prosperity) to everybody celebrating it in Sarawak.

Since last Chinese New Year, this cat statue is surrounded by a square frame, now the frame was installed with lights and words wishing the Dayak happy Gawai Day.  Now the cat statue is wearing a brown cloth.  The cloth is the same as last year’s except the head accessories.

These are other decorations hanging around the cat.  We have saw it in Sarawak Cultural village and the long house.

I found a round-shaped cloud last week, and immediately something very familiar comes into my mind: - Angry Bird.  It is very extremely popular recently.

I am not really good in drawing (both on paper and in computer).  Just tried it for fun.

I had a graphic tablet years ago which I used it to draw simple things in computer, but now it is not working.  Hmm…  may be I should pick up drawing in computer software again… …

I miss my graphic tablet (which I used it to play games last time :p), although the main feature is the pressure sensitive pen which means I can draw strokes with different pressure like Chinese Calligraphy.

The picture above is drawn using brush tool, has a very “beginner” look.

Last Sunday, we bought a box of coloured pencil for our twin nephew, they enjoy colouring.  When they were guided, they can draw properly, else they just simply draw out of the lines.  We purposely bought one box only, and teach them not to fight with each other for coloured pencils and learn to share.

When my camera is mounted on my tripod, the angle can be rotated is 90 degrees (horizontal - vertical and vice versa).  I rotated while the shutter was released.

I took the picture above with 8 seconds shutter speed.  The first and last 3 seconds are static and in between, it leaves the light trail.  I have not tried “Light in the Night” technique for quite some time.  You can find my previous light painting photos here (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Q&A).  I told myself to stop posting them until I have something new.  Yes, this is something new that I have just tried.

The camera was shaken.  How nice if the tripod is programmable and can rotate by itself.

If you look carefully, you will find that the center of rotation (the point that does not move in any rotation) is at one of the corners outside the pictures.  Next time, I will try to rotate it in the middle of the photos itself instead.
