I don’t know what to call it exactly but I always find it at the toy section so I’ll call it a toy here.  However, it means more than an ordinary toy to me.  I would call it a dream because I’ve always longed for something like this. Yes!  It’s The Scrabble.  It is fun and you can actually spend hours playing it.

A set of Scrabble usually comes with a game board marked with a 15-by-15 grid and individual lettered tiles as well as the accessories to record scores.  It is a word game for two to four players.  By forming words from individual lettered tiles on the game board, the players score points.  The highest score wins, I suppose. 

According to Wikipedia, the words are formed across and down in crossword fashion and must appear in a standard dictionary.  The game is also known as Literati, Alfapet, Funworder, Skip-A-Cross, Scramble, Spelofun, Palabras Cruzadas (means “crossed words”) and Word for Word.

Before I bought The Scrabble, I usually play Literati online with my sister.

The one that I bought is a magnetic board scrabble.  I did hesitate for quite a while when I was standing in front of the shelf full of Scrabble products, thinking about what type of Scrabble game I should go for.  The traditional one was very tempting and the price is the same as the one I bought but it has a bigger size.  They also have a limited edition Scrabble but it was more expensive.  And finally, I decided to take this one because I want portability. 

I bought it! I bought The Scrabble, my dream!

-  A Green coconut tree leaves swung according to the rhythm of the wind in a light gray-coloured cloudy sky.

For me, green colour means go ahead, nature and Lifes.  I have got a message from this coconut tree:-  although he was swung by the wind and hard for him to stop it leaves from moving, he does not even move one step from his position.  Therefore I am learning from him that no matter how the environment influent me, I am going to stick to my goals, principles and long term mission which has rooted for years.

Look at the sky, there was grey cloud, the rain was coming soon.  Althought the backgound looks miserable, but the coconut tree still reflect the sunlight and give a smiling face in the beautiful golden light green colour.

I can only show you the top part of this coconut tree because it is blocked by double-stories houses in front of our house.  Can you imagine how tall is this tree?  It is slightly higher then a 2-stories house.

Our life started to get busy since weeks ago, a lot of pressure, chasing against time, rushing here and there, endless items are pending in our to do lists, but we still still stick to our long time mission.  I promised that I won’t reduce the number of posts even we are busy.  Average 4.5 posts per week (I means 4 or 5 posts per week. :p) .

Dear readers, do you know what are our long term ultimate dreams?  What is your feeling when you first look at this picture before reading my opinion?  SiewPeng and I hope that you can share with us.

The tortoise was performing “jump water“. In Chinese it is called “Tiao4Shui3” where “Tiao4” means jump and “Shui” means water. The correct word in English is call “diving“, but this word is ambiguous, therefore I use Chinese to explain it.

First, the tortoise stopped eating when it saw me shooting at him, it paused for a while and feel that its same to continue eating.

When the tortoise opened its mouth to the maximum level, it automatically closed its eyes, at the same time its eyes skin reflected the lights directly into the lens of my camera that’s why its eyes turn white when it was eating the KangKong.

Can you hear that it make some noise when it was eating? It must have sharp teeth.

Do you notice that the tortoise shell was not touching the ground when it was moving? This happen not only to tortoise, but the lizards on the wall in our house. Believe it? Find a lizard in your house and see how it walks.

This is how the garden in Sam Poh Tong looks like. There are Koi fish in the pond.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I miss this sound of the dripping water, therefore I bring it back to Kuching. Actually, I am not only able to listen to it in Kuching, but anywhere as long as I can access the video clip.

What can you imagine when you listen to this water dripping sound? I feel that I am in a quiet jungle, where there is a bird making similar sound. The leaves of the trees in this jungle are not totally blocking the sunlight. The sun shines on me and I am enjoying the fresh air. I sit down on a piece of wood and talk to the plants and animals in the jungle. SiewPeng and I are listening to their magical stories.

Althought it is just an imagination, we hope that we can enjoy the nature, peace and harmony.

You may say that this video clip is meaningless, but there is something meaningful to us.

It is SiewPeng’s metronome in Ipoh now used by her sister as well to practice on piano. On our last trip to Ipoh, with the new camera in my hand, I have something in my mind that is telling me to take as many photos and videos in Ipoh. When we are in Kuching, sometime we may miss Ipoh, then we can have a look on the photo or watch the video that we have taken in Ipoh. SiewPeng misses her home very much and what I can do to help her is to capture things virtually. We are working hard to accumulate more financial power, by then, we can fly anytime to anywhere. SiewPeng won’t have to miss her home anymore.

I miss the water dripping sound in the bathroom at SiewPeng’s home in Ipoh, and I have brough it back to Kuching virtually. I will show you on the next post.

I saw this metronome many time in SiewPeng’s home but I don’t know what it is until I show SiewPeng the software that I used to create midi. I was silly and thought that is was something that measure the air-pressure and I wondered why there were different name for different air pressure. I was surprised weeks ago when SiewPeng show me how it works mechanically because I found that what I guess was not true.

The metronome is related to time. If I just shoot on the metronome, doesn’t it too lonely? Therefore, I made the pumpkin to accompany him. The pumpkin help to fill up the space in the movie clips to create a balanced effect.

Can we break the limitation of space and time? Yes, we can. We can use technology such as computer, webcam and mic to see and talk to our dearest friends and family who are thousand miles away, but it is virtual and not real, What can we access are the images and sounds that produced by computer. It is still better than nothing.

We can go back to the past by having a video camera, camera, voice recorder etc. The experience may not be as real as the actual moment, but it can lead our memory, feeling and emotion to go back to the past. I hope I can take more photos on our family members both in Kuching and Ipoh, but it seems that not everybody like to have their photo taken especially when they are not prepared or when they haven’t put extra colours to their face. :p
