These pictures were taken when we were traveling on a bus on the North South Highway, West Malaysia.  It was cloudy and the sky was almost dark.

After I have edited the pictures, I found that the power cable poles look like one of the Power Rangers show’s monsters.

The first picture above has been adjusted on its hue, whereas this picture has only been touched on its contrast.

There are blackouts happening quite frequently in Sarawak recently (few hours each time, few times a week, randomly).  I hope it won’t happen again.

Have you seen this species of frog before?  We have had a few acquaintances with frogs lately.  This little fellow was found in the garden by Colin.

According to Colin, it stayed really still for the whole ‘photography session’ even though the camera was really close to it.  It was quite cooperative.

By the way, did I mention about its main attraction?  Yes!  It has blue eyes!  However, it does not look like those poisonous frogs but it is still best not to touch it.

It hung on tightly to the branch.  I wonder what it was thinking.  Have you ever thought about communicating with animals?  Maybe we can learn some valuable lessons from them.

Do you think frogs are adorable?  I’ve asked a few people but they think that frogs make them shiver and they kind of feel a little bit gross about it.

This part shows the frog’s legs.  They are not ordinary legs if you ask me.  They are strong, reliable and…sticky!

Today is Malaysia National day, however, as promised, I show you the best picture of clouds on the last day of each month.

It was one hot afternoon, where there were dark clouds in the sky, but I insisted to go for jogging to release my tension.  I told myself that I would stop jogging if it rained, but it didn’t.

When it is cloudy, it doesn’t mean that it is going to rain, whereas when the sky is clear, it doesn’t mean that it is not going to rain. - The weather is really unpredictable.

As usual, this cat is decorated with a festive theme again.  The new thing for this year is the frame which surrounded the cat statue.

The squares in yellow and green are not puzzles but a type of food made of rice called Ketupat.

These are the Ketupats on the cat’s ‘hand’.

This year the cat is wearing a green head wear called Tengkolok (traditional Malay head gear for men), last year it wore the same thing but in brown.

And again I have seen this every year since 3 years ago, - the light.

It is a long public holiday this year because usually there are 2 days off for Hari Raya Aidilfitri and our Malaysia National Day (31 Aug) falls on the 2nd day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, therefore a replacement holiday is given on the 1st Sept (3 days). That makes three days of public holidays in a row!

As promised in the last post we are going to show you a kitchen gadget.  Here it is - the ice cream / ice cube maker.

I am sure everyone knows how to use it, therefore I am not going to tell you the details here.  But there is a tip… …

It happened years back when my housemate wanted to learned from what I had done using an ice cube maker to make the Milo ice cube.  It was a cube shape ice maker, she did the same thing by putting stirred Milo drink into the ice cube maker, but the outcome was totally different from mine.

The Milo ice cubes that she made were as hard as rock and hardly bite-able, whereas mine were as soft as ice cream.

The tip is to use more concentrated drink instead of adding too much plain water, otherwise the ice will be as hard as rocks.
